What is cupping?
What you need to know about cupping massage
Cupping is a very effective treatment that originates from traditional Chinese medicine and is often used as a complement to other alternative medical treatments such as acupuncture. Cupping massage is an in-depth muscle and connective tissue treatment that promotes the circulation of blood, lymph and tissue fluids using a vacuum on the skin created by glass or plastic suction cups. Cupping is primarily for different types of pain syndrome, mild rheumatism, poor circulation and low metabolism, exercise pain or muscular pain and gastrointestinal problems. In the case of multiple injuries, the blood and lymphatic flow increases locally and accelerates the healing process. The function of sweat and sebaceous glands improves, slag products are extracted from the skin and strengthen the skin’s resistance to external strain. Many therapists claim that it helps cellulite, but there is currently no scientific evidence of this. Cupping affects the skin structure and can make the connective tissue feel firmer after treatment. Book a time and try yourself! For long-term positive effects, it must be performed on a regular basis.

How does cupping massage work?
Cupping uses glass or plastic cups suctioned onto the skin. Cupping is performed with a flowing motion across the treatment area or static as a spot treatment. Statically performed, the cups remain on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes, to dissolve troublesome muscle nodules or to affect the body’s flow of blood and energy. The negative pressure created by the cup increases blood circulation very effectively in both joints, muscles and associated tissues. If you are sensitive you may notice some discoloration of the skin where the cups were placed. This disappears after a few days. Sunbathing is not recommended for 2 days following treatment due to increased skin sensitivity.
